Jerusalem CNN —Israeli authorities are preparing to send a group of Palestinian patients who were being treated in East Jerusalem hospitals back to Gaza this week. They had all received permission from Israeli authorities to travel to Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem for advanced medical care – most before Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel. Mick Krever/CNNAmong them will be Nima Abu Garrara, who was brought from Rafah to East Jerusalem pregnant with twins and gave birth on October 5. But staying in East Jerusalem is no longer an option. Before October, a third of those receiving care at the Augusta Victoria Hospital were patients from Gaza who needed advanced cancer treatment.

Oct 13 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden will announce in Philadelphia on Friday the recipients of $7 billion in federal grants for the development of regional hydrogen hubs, advancing a key part of his administration's broader plan to decarbonize the U.S. economy. "The regional hydrogen hubs will kickstart a national network of clean hydrogen production, consumers and the connected infrastructure necessary, while supporting the production, storage and delivery and end use of clean hydrogen,” a senior administration official said. The hubs selected will serve the mid-Atlantic, Appalachian, Midwest, Minnesota and Plains states, the Gulf Coast, Pacific Northwest and California. The grants are expected to leverage over $40 billion in private investment, generate tens of thousands of jobs and create a national hydrogen economy. Most of the selected hubs include the use of natural gas to power hydrogen production, which administration officials said would need to install carbon capture technology to qualify.

The San Francisco landlord of X's headquarters will be charged fees over Elon Musk's sign antics. Elon Musk is causing more headaches for the landlord of the San Francisco, California, headquarters of X, the social media giant formerly called Twitter. Workers prepare to dismantle a large X logo on the roof of X headquarters on July 31, 2023. A building permit was required to remove the "X" sign but, "due to safety concerns," the permit can be obtained after the fact, Hannan said. City officials had issued a notice of violation on Friday after the "X" sign was put up on the building's roof without a permit.

Aug 1 (Reuters) - An obscure cloud service company has been providing state-sponsored hackers with internet services to spy on and extort their victims, a cybersecurity firm said in a report to be published on Tuesday. Researchers at Texas-based Halcyon said a company called Cloudzy had been leasing server space and reselling it to no fewer than 17 different state-sponsored hacking groups from China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, India, Pakistan and Vietnam. Halcyon estimated that roughly half of Cloudzy’s business was malicious, including renting services to two ransomware groups. The cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, which wasn’t involved in the research, said that it hadn’t seen state-sponsored hackers using Cloudzy. He said the company needed U.S. domicile to be able to register internet protocol addresses in America.

San Francisco's Department of Building Inspection said it was investigating the lawsuit's claims. San Francisco has opened a new investigation into Elon Musk's plans to alter Twitter headquarters following claims made in a lawsuit by six former employees. The former staff also described the billionaire's plans to create a "Twitter hotel" amid Musk's "hardcore" vision. After Musk took over the company in October, he converted some office space into bedrooms, prompting an investigation by San Francisco's Department of Building Inspection. Killian was asked by the "transition team" not to reveal the details of the future plans during that inspection.
San Francisco told Twitter to label converted bedrooms as sleeping areas, per a correction notice. If it doesn't comply, Twitter has 15 days to convert the bedrooms back to offices in its HQ. Officials launched an investigation in December into Twitter's office bedrooms. Patrick Hannan, the Building Inspection Department's communications director, confirmed to Insider in December it was investigating reports that Twitter had converted some office rooms into sleeping areas in its HQ. A former Twitter employee told BBC News that Musk had often slept in Twitter's offices since taking over the company.
Members of the Syrian Kurdish Asayish security forces inspect tents at the Kurdish-run al-Hol camp, on Aug. 28, 2022, during a security campaign by the Syrian Democratic Forces against IS "sleeper cells" in the camp. While most ISIS fighters were killed or captured, their families were bused to the refugee camp as a temporary holding place, but with no long-term alternatives. In September, the SDF conducted an operation to root out ISIS fighters inside the camp. Over 24 days, they rounded up about 300 ISIS fighters, killed several more, and confiscated weapons and explosives. U.S. military officials warn that ISIS has divisions of troops waiting to fight inside Hasakah and the other prisons.
